“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich...strengthen the weak by weakening the strong...bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift...lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down...build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence...help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves." -Abraham Lincoln
Welcome friend! Today I have a member from the Farmhouse Gathering on Artfire for you to meet. Come and visit the shop of Joanna Collections. This shop is filled with wonderful handwoven baskets. Taking a class in 1991 at a church camp in Northern Wisconsin, she became hooked on the art of basket weaving. I can so relate to this. This wonderful basket weaver is bless to live on a 20acre hobby farm in Eastern Minnesota. She has not only raised food but nine children. She not only weaves but teaches basket weaving to adults at different public schools. Nothing better then sharing your love of basket weaving with others. Below are some of the baskets she has in her shop. Enjoy your visit and remember you can type AFG into the search bar on Artfire to find more great shops from this talented team.

There hasn't been much said about the military mom. Yet no wars could ever have been won without her! A military mom is a teacher of independence, perserverance, discipline and integrity, possesses a great sense of humor and can make of any house, a home. She is a woman of quiet strength who has shaped the hearts of our Bravest Heroes and taught them to value peace above all else. The military mom is unshakable in love for her country. That is how she is able to let go of her most precious treasure. A son or daughter. We proudly salute and thank the "Military Mom".
