What is it Wednesday
Yes I'm a day late! Yesterday just got away from me! With that said and my need for coffee (LOL). I have two examples of coffee grinders. Both where used to grind coffee beans. Before you could perk your coffee (no coffee makers, with timers), you first had to grind your coffee beans. The top one has a drawer to catch the ground beans, the one on the bottom , would fall into a container, or you could hold the container under it. My sons used to love to sit and grind coffee beans for me. They would take turns holding the container while the other one turned the handle. Lot's of fun in the morning!
In 1900 the one on the top would have cost you $0.49 and the one on the bottom $0.20. Now we spend over a $1.00 for a cup of coffee. How things have changed. We purchase our coffee ground in a plastic container, have a coffee maker with a timer, so we can have our coffee ready first thing in the morning. This part of the modern world I love, but I also think we need to go back to a simpler time, at least once in a while. Have a great day, and enjoy a cup of coffee, and think of your grandmother or great grandmother grinding coffee beans.

I love coffee grinders. I have a couple of them. Mike actually used it one day after our electric grinder broke. He took it down from display, cleaned it out, and used it while I sat there looking at him like, "I can't believe you are using my antique!" It worked quite well. :)
