Abe Lincoln

“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich...strengthen the weak by weakening the strong...bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift...lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down...build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence...help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves." -Abraham Lincoln

Please stop by and vote

My orange tote basket was placed in a wonderful treasury on Etsy.  Here is the link

This treasury was then entered into a contest.  Please stop by and vote for your favorite and hopefully it is the one my tote basket is in.  Here is the link to vote

This has been so much fun.  Thank you  Maya Wyler for including my basket in your treasury and then taking me on this fun trip on the web.  You can visit Maya shop here

The Old Winery Market 4-28-2012

31505 Grand River Ave
Farmington, MI
Open from 9AM to 2PM
Across the street from ZapZone

Sadly this is the last day for the winter market.  Next Saturday many of us will start our summer markets , some in Farmington or else where in the state.  So for the last day we will have many new vendors and some returning vendors for you to visit.  Some will be outside and others inside.  Their will be ribs and pulled pork off the grill, outside.  Inside a new soap maker, candy, sauces, eggs, bread, produce and a lot more.  Make sure to stop by and stock up on your favorite vendors that will not be at the summer market, or get a card and phone number.  It has been a lot of fun to see new faces and getting to know them.

Thank you all for making my Saturdays at the market so much fun.  It has been fun meeting customers for the first time, and telling them about the summer market just down the street.

Mother's Day is just a couple of weeks away and it never to early to start shopping for your mom, grandmother or wife (the mother to your kids).

Walking around this grand old build and enjoy some history and share with your children, the fun of living before electric lights, and meeting the new local vendors.  See you all tomorrow!

Farmington, MI
Open from 9AM to 2PM

Hard to believe that we only have two more weeks at The Old Winery Market.  Starting in May we will all be going to our Summer Markets.  Plan on stopping out for fresh food, handmade items and more.  The cafe will be open for breakfast and lunch.  This pictures is from last week and the beautiful trees that where in bloom.

This week I'm the featured vendor.  Stop over and watch has I weave a basket or work on chair.  I re cane chairs besides weaving baskets.  Do you have a corner cabinet or storage unit that needs some baskets?  Bring your measurement and I can make custom made baskets to fit your unit.  Love working with customers to make sure they get a basket that will work for them.  You get to pick the size, shape and color for your basket.  Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Dirtroad Team - Tinker Bead Design and Sakura's Blossoms

Welcome friends, please come and visit with two of our new members.  The first shop is Tinker Bead Design, from PA.  Robin is the designer who has fallen in love with polomyer clay.  Three years ago Robin started playing with polomyer clay first to relieve stress from her job, then she found she could make beads to match her outfits.  Once she started wearing her art, then it all began.  Friends and family where interested in buying her designs and talked her into doing a local craft show.  From craft shows to now on Etsy, Robin is offering her one of kind designs.  Take a minute to see if you can find something to wear and update an outfit in your closet.

The next shop is Sakura's Blossoms, where Toleka works her magic with fabric. Making Kanzashi Flower for hair and brooches, you will find something for a baby (head band), to little girls and then us big girls. Check out her cute model showing us how to wear these wonderful creations. Wonderful way to dress up an outfit for you or your little girl. Each flower petal is handmade from fabric with the centers made from glass beads. Toleka is another amazing designer on this team.
